After 25 years in this business, it is my observation that biomedical technicians, clinical and biomedical engineers are the hardest working, dedicated, committed and, yet, underpaid professionals on the planet! Ongoing discussions on the various list serves concerning low pay in relation to our technical counterparts in the IT world reinforce this  harsh reality concerning the financial limitations we all face as biomedical technology support professionals. What one chooses to do about this depends on the type of person you are.  Are you willing to enhance your  income through job change; relocation; professional growth; career advancement; consulting; or working a second job, or, are you the type of individual that chooses to remain complacent, can't think out of the box, aren't motivated to work or simply don't need extra income? (i.e., married rich)! Waiting for your employer to increase your salary range to match your counterparts in IT is one option….. but good luck.
